Holy Cross (1-10): Holy Cross travels to Providence, Rhode Island to take on Providence College in men's lacrosse action, on Wednesday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m. The Crusaders enter the contest with a 1-10 overall record and a 0-5 mark in the Patriot League. Last season, Holy Cross defeated PC, 14-8, in Worcester, Massachusetts to open the 2001 schedule. The Crusaders lead the all-time series versus Providence, 13-8. In 2002, the Crusaders are led by freshman attack Mike McKee. McKee has scored 31 points on 12 goals and 19 assists. Junior Shaun McGowan leads the team in goals scored, with 14. McGowan is second on the team in scoring with 18 points. Sophomore goaltender Brian Hodgon has earned the decision in each of Holy Cross' 11 games this season, and owns a 12.7 goals against average and a .532 save percentage.
Providence College (7-4): Providence College hosts Holy Cross in non-conference men's lacrosse action, on Wednesday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m. The Friars enter Wednesday's game with a 7-4 overall record and a 4-1 mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Senior midfielder Kyle Ojakian (Cheshire, Conn.) leads PC in scoring (45 points) and assists (31), and is currently fourth on the team in goals scored, with 14. Freshman attack Dan Giuntini (Flora Park, N.Y.) leads the Friars with 18 goals, and ranks second on the team in scoring (24 points). Senior John Farley (West Simsbury, Conn.) has an 8.97 goals against average and a .578 save percentage. The Friars are looking to capture their eighth win of the season when they face the Crusaders. Providence has not won eight games since 1988, when the team finished the year 8-4. The 1986 PC men's lacrosse team, is the only other squad to earn eight wins, or more, in a season after completing the year with a 9-3 mark.
