PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence men's lacrosse team lost on the road to Brown 18-2, Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.

Chris Houston (Garden City, N.Y.) and Jim Dooley (Maplewood, N.J.) were the only two Friars to find the back of the net, as they each scored one goal. Skip Dunphy (Manhasset, N.Y.) and Kevin Kornobis (Merrick, N.Y.) each tallied one assist.

The Friars tied the game 2-2 in the second quarter on Houston's goal, but the Bears proved to be too much to handle, reeling off 16 unanswered goals to end the game 18-2.

John Farley (West Simsbury, Conn.) made 11 saves for the Friars in 39 minutes of play. He allowed 10 Brown goals. He was relieved in the third quarter by Paul Doran (Amityville, N.Y.). Doran allowed seven goals and registered one save in just over 18 minutes. Brian Jordan (South Windsor, Conn.) relieved Doran for the remaining 5:42 of the game and allowed one goal. Brown played a total of four goaltenders in the game and combined for nine saves. Beret Dixon led all Brown goalies with seven, and allowed both Friar goals.

Providence (6-7, 4-3 MAAC) will travel to Sacred Heart on Saturday, April 28 for a 2:00 p.m. start, before returning home to Glay Field for the final regular-season game of the season against Siena on Tuesday, May 1 (2:00 p.m.).

Sacred Heart and Siena are both members of the MAAC conference, and a sweep of the two teams would clinch a play-off spot in the conference championships held in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on May 5-6.
