Women's Ice Hockey Preview vs. Mercyhurst

Mercyhurst College (10-14-2): Mercyhurst travels to Providence College for a two game series at Schneider Arena. The first game will be played at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26 and game two will be played at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27. The Lady Lakers enter the weekend with a 10-14-2 record and compete as an independent. Mercyhurst is led offensively by freshman forward Lyndsay Barch with 17 points on nine goals and eight assists. She is followed by Kelly Raycroft with 15 points. Raycroft leads the team with 13 assists and has two goals in 26 games. In goal for the Lady Lakers, sophomore Tiffany Ribble has played the majority of minutes, earning herself a 7-5-2 overall record and has a 1.70 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.

Providence College (12-7-3, 7-6-3): The 10th-ranked Providence College Friars will resume play at Schneider Arena this weekend after dropping two games and earning one tie last week. The Friars lost their first game 5-1 to No. 1-ranked Dartmouth at home, then lost to No. 9 New Hampshire 6-2 on the road. In the team's third and final game last week, the Friars were on their way to victory before Maine tied the game with 11 seconds remaining in regulation on a penalty shot. The score after overtime remained tied, with the final score standing at 3-3. The Friars are led offensively by senior forward Jessica Tabb with 34 points on 10 goals and 24 assists. Kim Mathias is second on the team in scoring with 24 points. She has a team-high 13 goals to go along with 11 assists. In goal, freshman Amy Quinlan has posted a 1.84 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. Providence remains tied for sixth-place in the Division I ECAC standings with a 7-6-3 record in conference action.
