PC's Chris Houston netted two goals and Dan Moran recorded one tally in the first quarter as the Friars played the league leading Hawks to a 3-3 tie after 15 minutes of action. However, St. Joseph's came out strong in the second quarter, scoring five unanswered goals to take an 8-3 lead at halftime. Scott spearheaded the Hawks' offense in the second quarter with two goals and two assists.
The each team scored six goals over the final 30 minutes of action. Rory Wentworth led the Friar offense with three goals in the second half.
With the win, St. Joseph raised its record to 5-2 and 4-0 in the MAAC, while Providence fell to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in league action.
The Friars will return to action on April 3 against Drexel at PC's Glay Field at 2:00 p.m.
