The Providence College Lacrosse team traveled to Boston, Mass. for a series of networking events.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Providence College lacrosse team traveled to Boston, Mass. for the program's Annual Career Networking Day. A signature event for the program, the Lacrosse Networking Day has helped generate countless professional opportunities for Friar student-athletes around the world.
The day began at Colliers International, where Friar alumni Kevin Phelan '66, Steve Woelfel '05 and Dave Goodhue '01 welcomed the group, along with recent Providence College Business School graduate William Torrence '24.
The Friars then visited Income Research and Management, where lacrosse alumni Matt Conroy '92 met with the team. Joining the discussion were Kyle White and Scott Weinberg.
Next, the team traveled to BlackRock Investment Management, where they were hosted by Taylor Benson '03, Don Perault '26P '27P, Siobhan Roche '03 and Casey Sullivan '21.
Later in the day, the team gathered for lunch and heard from a panel of speakers, including Key Account Executive at Google, Gary Florindo P'29, Vice President of Transformation at State Street, Henry Pychon '07, Regional Sales Manager at New England Medical Solutions, Ken Leahy '00 and Vice President at Copley Equity Partners, Matt DiFrancesco '12.
The networking continued at 100 Legends Way, where the team met with Rich Gotham '86, President of the Boston Celtics. Joining Gotham was Ted Dalton '19P, Patrick Lynch '00 and Matt Murphy '21.
The day concluded with visits to MFS Investment Management, hosted by Steve Kelly '93 and Harvard Management Company, hosted by Frank Cicero '10.
The Annual Career Networking Day once again showcased the strength of the Friar network and the lasting impact of Providence College alumni support.
"I want to thank all of the alumni, parents and friends who make this such a transformational day for our program," Head Coach Bobby Benson said. "The network of the Friar family has opened doors for our student-athletes to excel in some of the most competitive industries in the world and for that we are tremendously grateful."
