Two Friars Earn BIG EAST Honors For Lacrosse

Albert Paniccia Named BIG EAST Specialist of the Week and Richie Joseph earned Weekly Honor Roll
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's lacrosse players Albert Paniccia (East Norwich, N.Y.) and Richie Jospeh (Longmeadow, Mass.), earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors on Monday, Feb. 17. Paniccia was named Specialist of the Week and Joseph was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Paniccia recorded a career-high three caused turnovers and picked up four ground balls in the team's decisive 14-2 victory over Marquette on Saturday. The senior midfielder has registered 11 caused turnovers, 35 groundballs and one goal on the season.
Joseph scored a game-high six points on five goals and one assist in the Friars' victory. The junior ranks second on the team in points (39) and shares the lead in goals (30) this season. Joseph has recorded 113 career points (83 goals / 30 assists) and moved to 23rd on the Friars' all-time scoring list. He also ranks 16th on the Friars' all-time goals list (83 goals).
