Kimberley May Sets Program Record In The Mile

May’s 4:27.85 mile time marks a program record, ranks seventh all-time in NCAA history and first in the NCAA this season.
BOSTON, Mass.- The Providence College women's indoor track team competed in Boston, Mass. at the Boston University Terrier Classic on Saturday, Jan. 27. Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) ran a 4:27.85 in the mile to set a program record, ranks seventh all-time in NCAA history and first in the NCAA this season.
May (Auckland, New Zealand) finished runner-up in the mile. Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) followed in sixth place with a personal record of 4:30.83, ranking third all-time in program history.
Alex O'Neill (Ennis, Ireland) ran a personal record time of 2:05.49 in the 800 meters to win her heat. O'Neill's time ranks second all-time in program history. Kiera Hall (Christchurch, New Zealand) followed in a time of 2:13.14. Polly Bogdan (Rochester, N.Y.) finished in 2:15.90 and Lexi Brent (York, Maine) ran a 2:17.84.
Lilly Tuck (Sunderland, Canada) placed ninth in the 5,000 meters in a time of 16:02.38. Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) followed in a time of 16:19.98 to finish 14th.
Jill Fennerty (Franklin, Mass.) ran a 57.03 in the 400 meters.
Nicole Borowiec (Denville, N.J.) ran an 8.86 in the 60-meter hurdles to finish sixth.
The Friars are back in action Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11 at Boston University's Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
