Savannah Ivie Named to Big East Weekly Honor Roll

Ivie recorded 24 digs in the Friars win over Bryant.
NEW YORK, N.Y. – It was announced today, September 11, that Providence College defensive specialist Savannah Ivie (Frisco, Texas) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for volleyball.
Ivie helped lead the Friars to a 3-0 weekend where they won the Friar Classic. The freshman started off the weekend tallying 13 digs in a three-set win over Saint Peter's. She then went on to register 14 digs in a three-set win over Central Connecticut. To finish off the weekend she notched a season-high, 24 digs in five-set win over Bryant. She also contributed seven assists and six service aces.
Ivie received All-Tournament honors at the Friar Classic this weekend. The freshman currently ranks third in the BIG EAST in digs with 140.
WHAT'S NEXT… The Providence College Volleyball Team will be on the road next weekend for the Boston College / Harvard Tournament in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Friars will face off against Boston College on Friday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m. and will play Merrimack at 4:00 p.m. Providence will play again on Saturday, September 16 at 7:00 p.m. against Harvard.
