Indoor Track Opens Season at Boston University and Brown University

The Friars return to action on Jan. 14 at the UMass Amherst Flagship Invitational.
BOSTON, Mass. – The Providence College men's and women's indoor track teams opened their seasons at the Brown University Alden Invitational and the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 2.
Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ireland) and Liam Back (New Plymouth, New Zealand) finished the 5,000 meters in personal-best times of 14:03.3 and 14:06.89, respectively.
Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) won the 1,000 meters in 2:26.28, marking a personal record.
On the women's side, Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) finished in the top-10 for the 3,000 meters (ninth) in a time of 8:54.16. May's performance ranks third all-time in program history (indoor).
At the Brown University Alden Invitational, Tessa Hunt (Wellington, New Zealand) finished the mile in first place with a time of 5:11.14. Claire Kelly (Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y.) followed in second place in 5:11.81.
Jill Fenerty (Franklin, Mass.) broke the 300-meter program record in a time of 40.44 for first-place. Olivia Belt (Cumberland, R.I.) finished first in the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:06.74.
Tyler Bartlett (Fairfield, Conn.) placed second in the 1,000 meters in a time of 2:32.88.
