Kayla Grant Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

The sophomore received the honors in her first week in a Friar uniform.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- It was announced today, Aug. 30 that Providence College sophomore middle blocker, Kayla Grant (Rowlett, Texas) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for volleyball.
Grant posted 28 kills and 11 total blocks as Providence went 2-1 at the Iona Tournament. She notched a season-high 12 kills against Iona that she matched with five block assists. Grant maintained a high hitting percentage through the three matches, hitting a team-best .545 in the last match against Holy Cross, averaging .421 on the weekend. Grant's performance earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team.
UP NEXT...The Friars will travel to the University of Texas-Arlington this weekend for the UTA Classic. The Friars will face off against Texas A&M University-Commerce on Friday, Sept. 2 at 12:00 p.m. (ET) before their match against University of North Texas later that afternoon (5:00 p.m. ET). Providence will play host UT Arlington on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 12:00 p.m. (ET).
