PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore
Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas) of the Providence College volleyball program was named to the 2022 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team as announced by the conference office today (Aug. 16).
As a freshman, Rhoden appeared in all 31 matches playing 112 total sets. She led the Friars and ranked eighth in the BIG EAST in kills, with 359 (3.21 kills/set). Rhoden also was named to the All-BIG EAST Freshman Team at the conclusion of the 2021 campaign.
The Friars are set to open the 2022 regular-season schedule at the Iona Gaels Tournament on Aug. 26-27 in New Rochelle, N.Y. Providence will face Central Connecticut and Iona on Aug. 26 and will conclude the tournament with a match against Holy Cross on Aug. 27. For a complete schedule, visit Friars.com.
