NEW YORK, N.Y. – Providence College women's soccer sophomore
Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, Sept. 20. Providence defeated crosstown rival Brown, 2-1, on Thursday, Sept. 16 in Providence, R.I.
Bodmer was tested against Brown, making eight saves for the Friars. After allowing a goal in the 17
th minute, Bodmer held steady for the final 73 minutes as Providence scored two second half goals to defeat the Bears. Bodmer had four saves in each half. No other winning BIG EAST Goalkeeper had more than three saves last week.
The Friars will begin BIG EAST action on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium against Xavier.
