Lily Gibbs scored two goals for the Friars.
Villanova, Pa. - The Providence College women's soccer team defeated the Villanova University Wildcats (9-8-0, 4-5-0 BIG EAST), 2-1, on Oct. 25 in Villanova, Pa. The Friars improved to a 6-6-3 record and a 3-4-2 mark in BIG EAST play. Lily Gibbs (Dedham, Mass.) scored two goals for the Friars.

• The Friars opened the match with an early goal in the ninth minute of action (8:10). Lily Gibbs (Dedham Mass.) scored from the left side of the box and gave the Friars a 1-0 lead.
• The Friars held an early advantage as they carried a 1-0 lead into the half.
• Villanova found a response in the 81st minute (80:55) when Dez Zapata scored the equalizing goal. Morgan Kotch assisted her goal.
• Less than two minutes later (82:08), Gibbs added her second goal of the match to regain the lead for the Friars. Gibbs scored from the top of the box and was assisted by Thaea Mouratidis (Toronto, Ont.) and Amaya Coffie (Warwick, R.I.).
• The Friars controlled the match, outshooting the Wildcats by a 15-11 margin.
