Providence College Volleyball Announces 2021 Schedule

The Friars open their season at the Army Tournament on Aug. 27-28.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.- Providence College volleyball Head Coach Margot Royer-Johnson announced the program's 2021 schedule today (July 26). The 32-match schedule features four tournaments, including the 16th Annual Friar Classic in September. The Friars will host 12 matches at home during the regular season at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I.
The 2021 slate kicks off at the Army Tournament from Aug. 27-28. The Friars open the tournament against Merrimack (Aug. 27), followed by matches against Iona and host Army (Aug. 28).
The 16th Annual Friar Classic takes place on Sept. 10-11 at Alumni Hall. Providence will host St. Peter's (Sept. 10), Binghamton (Sept. 11) and Farleigh Dickenson University (Sept. 11).
The Friars will close out the non-conference schedule at the Fordham Tournament from Sept. 17-18. The Friars open against Coppin State (Sept. 17), then match up with St. Francis (N.Y.) and host, Fordham University on Sept. 18.
BIG EAST play opens with a four-game road trip, during which time the Friars will take on Xavier (Sept. 24), Butler (Sept . 25), Seton Hall (Oct. 1) and St. John's (Oct. 2).
The Friars then return to Providence to host Marquette in their BIG EAST home opener on Oct. 8, followed by DePaul on Oct. 10. The Friars go back on the road for one game against UConn on (Oct. 14).
The Friars then have five of the next seven games at home versus Creighton (Oct. 17), Villanova (Oct. 22), Georgetown (Oct. 24), Butler (Nov. 5) and Xavier (Nov. 7
The Friars round out the regular season with two games on the road against Villanova (Nov. 12) and Georgetown (Nov. 13) followed by two final home games versus St. John's (Nov. 19) and Seton Hall (Nov. 21). The BIG EAST Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 26-28 in Milwaukee, Wis.
