Snead played a critical role in two shutouts and scored a game-winning goal in a 2-0 week for Providence.
Kansas City, Mo.- Providence College women's soccer player Avery Snead (Wrentham, Mass.) was named United Soccer Coaches' Player of the Week on March 16. The Friars went 2-0 last week, defeating Seton Hall, 1-0, and Villanova, 4-0. Providence holds a 5-1-0 overall record, marking the program's best start since 2010. Providence also owns a 3-1-0 record in BIG EAST play.
Snead, who was also named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, scored the game-winning goal against Seton Hall in the 62nd minute, marking her second game-winning goal of the season. Snead also played an instrumental part in back-to-back shutout victories for the Friars.
The Friars return to action on Thursday, March 18 at 3:00 p.m. against St. John's in Queens, N.Y.
