Fellow Freshman Emma Bodmer was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
New York, N.Y.- Providence College women's soccer player Avery Snead (Wrentham, Mass.) was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday, March 15. Additionally, Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. The Friars went 2-0 last week, defeating Seton Hall, 1-0, and Villanova, 4-0. Providence holds a 5-1-0 overall record, marking the program's best start since 2010. Providence also owns a 3-1-0 record in BIG EAST play.
This is Snead's second-consecutive week earning a BIG EAST weekly award, having previously been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. This past week, Snead scored the game-winning goal against Seton Hall, marking her second game-winning goal of the season. Snead also played an instrumental part in back-to-back shutout victories for the Friars.
Bodmer played nearly 169 minutes of scoreless action in net for the Friars last week. Bodmer tallied fives saves in the two victories. It marks Bodmer's third BIG EAST weekly honor. She has been named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week, twice (2/15, 2/22), and the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll once (3/15)
The Friars return to action on Thursday, March 18 in Queens, N.Y. against the St. John's Red Storm. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
