PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College graduate student setter
Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) surpassed the all-time record in assists for the Friar volleyball program. Barber has tallied 4,113 assists over her career, passing previous record holder Colleen Lee '00 who held the record at 3,964. Barber has recorded 655 assists in the 2021 season so far, having ended last season with 3,458 career assists.
Barber has registered 1,000 or more assists in two of the previous four seasons with the team. In 2017, she recorded a single-season career high of 1,162 assists.
The Friars return this weekend for their BIG EAST home opener against Marquette University on Friday, October 8 before facing DePaul University at home on Sunday, October 10.
