Mara Rodriguez (Rochester, N.Y.) has been named to the El Salvador U-20 National Team ahead of the 2020 Concacaf Women's Under-20 Championship in the Dominican Republic. The 2020 Concacaf Women's Under-20 Championship will kick off with an initial group stage between 16 teams from Saturday, Feb. 22 to Sunday, March 8. After round-robin play, the top three teams in each of the groups will advance to the knockout stage, joining the four qualifier winners - Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis and Grenada.
Rodriguez played in 19 games this season for the Friars, earning 10 starts. She played 825 minutes in the midfield after transferring from West Virginia prior to the 2019 season. This marks the fourth year she will be a member of the U-20 El Salvador Women's National Team, coached by Elías Ramirez.
All knockout round matches (round of 16, quarterfinal, semifinal and final) will be played in a single match elimination format, with the finalist and the third-place match winner qualifying to the FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup 2020.
