Track’s Millie Paladino Ready For NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Paladino is set to race the mile prelims on Friday, Mar. 8, 2019 in Birmingham, Ala.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College senior Millie Paladino (Morgantown, W. Va.) is set to compete at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala. on Mar. 8-9. Paladino will be racing in the preliminary heats of the mile on Friday, Mar. 8 at 6:35 p.m. ET. Paladino must place top four in her heat or have one of the two of the fastest non-automatic times to advance to final, which will be held on Saturday, Mar. 9 at 5:10 p.m. ET.
This will be the third year in a row that Paladino has qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. She earned first team All-America honors twice after finishing seventh overall in 2017 and sixth overall in 2018. This season has been another standout for Paladino as she is ranked 10th nationally in the mile at 4:33.79. She also clocked a time of 2:42.13 in the 1,000 meters earlier this season, which is the 12thfastest mark in collegiate history, a school record and a New England Collegiate record. Paladino was crowned the BIG EAST 3,000-meter champion on Feb. 23, making it her third BIG EAST title. She was also named the 2019 Northeast Region Indoor Female Athlete of the Year.
