EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – The Providence College Friars competed in the third day of the 2019 BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships.
The Friars set four program records in the pool on Friday. Sophomore
Lauren Zawacki (Marshfield, Mass.) improved upon the school mark in the 50-yard freestyle with her time of 57.20. The team of
Juliet McGlaughlin (Westchester, Pa.),
Abigail Czerniecki (Haddonfield, N.J.),
Katie Thornton (Fairfield, Conn.) and
Jennifer Bankes Boxford, Mass.) set a new record in the 400-yard medley relay (3:53.16). Freshman
Justin Viotto (Morristown, N.J.) bested the program's 400-yard IM record with his 3:58.09 mark.
Andrew Ferrell (Atlanta, Ga.) touched the wall at 50.25, good enough for a new school record and a fourth place finish.
