Bio
As A Junior:Â Finished second in the 50-meter freestyle against Assumption (27.62)... Finished 13th at BIG EAST Championships with a 56.90 in the 100-yard fly.
As a Freshman: Placed second in the 100 freestyle (55.45) and third in the 100 yard butterfly (1:01.67) against BryantpPlaced third in the 50 scm free (27.55), third in the 100 scm free (1:00.62), and third in the 100 scm butterfly (1:08.05) against Fairfield…placed third in the 50 scm free (27.22) against Iona…at the Harold Anderson Invitational, Thorton placed ninth in the 50 freestyle (24.27), sixth in the 100 butterfly (59.45), and ninth in the 100 freestyle (54.37)… placed third in the 50 yard free (25.56) against Holy Cross…Thorton qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in Geneva, Ohio where she competed in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and placed 15th in the 100 butterfly (58.14). Thorton was also a member of the school-record setting 200 yard freestyle relay that placed fifth (1:39.01), the 400 yard medley relay that placed sixth, and the 400 yard freestyle relay that placed sixth.Â
Before Providence: Earned four varsity letters swimming at Fairfield Ludlowe… captain during senior year…state champion, conference champion, and state record in the 200 free relay 2016… third in 100 fly at conference championships…second at the YMCA National Championships in the 200 free relay 2017…swimming team records held in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay…earned three varsity letters in lacrosse… awarded Keystone Club Volunteer of the Year 2016… awarded Spanish Excellence Award in 2014…member of Student Council.
Personal: Born August 10th, 1999… Daughter of Mary and John Thornton… has one brother, Jack, student at Providence College… plans to major in Marketing.
