Olivia Lucia Invited to NEWISA Senior Bowl

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) announced the 2019 senior student-athletes invited to the NEWISA Senior Bowl on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Providence College women's soccer senior Olivia Lucia (Monmouth Beach, N.J.) will represent the Friars.
Lucia, a crucial component of the Friars' defensive line, helped the team to five shutouts on the season and helped lead Providence to a BIG EAST Semifinal game for the third-consecutive season. She finished with a career-high two assists this season, starting all 20 games at left back.
In 2019, the Friars finished with an 8-9-3 overall record and a 3-5-1 mark in BIG EAST play. The Friars finished tied for fourth in the conference and advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament for the sixth-consecutive year.
The NEWISA Senior Bowl game is set Saturday, Dec. 7 at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass.
