PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College's
Shelby Hogan (Franklin, Mass.) was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, Oct. 21. Providence earned a crucial 2-1 comeback victory over Creighton on Saturday, Oct. 19. The win moved Providence into a tie for fourth place in the BIG EAST standings.
Hogan posted a season-high 12 saves on the afternoon, allowing just one first-half goal. The Bluejays recorded 25 shots, the most Hogan faced this season. She made 10 second-half saves to hold onto the 2-1 victory after
Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) scored two second-half goals. Hogan holds a 0.89 goals against average on the season, accompanied by a .861 save percentage.
McNulty notched her first multi-goal performance of the season and fourth of her career in Providence's comeback win over Creighton. She was recognized on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her efforts. McNulty scored two goals within five minutes of the second half, in the 50
th and 55
th minute. She leads the team with seven goals on the season, posting a team-high 52 shots in 2019.
