The second goal came from freshman Elayna Grillakis (Lowell, Mass.), who notched her first career goal in her NCAA debut with a one-timer off the crossbar and in. Sophomore Shelby Hogan (Franklin, Mass.) notched her first shutout of the season after totaling seven last year.

Series History Against Fairleigh Dickinson
The game on Sunday (Aug. 19) will mark the first time these two sides have matched up in the history of the two programs. Providence enters Sunday with a 1-0-0 record on the season after defeating Holy Cross 2-0 on Friday night. The Knights also opened up their season with a win, topping Marshall 1-0, on Thursday (Aug. 16) night.

Scouting The Knights
Fairleigh Dickinson captured the Northeast Conference regular season title in 2017 with a 6-1-1 conference record. In the conference tournament they fell short in the championship, when they lost to No. 2 seed Saint Francis in penalty kicks. The Knights enter the season predicted to finish second in the Northeast Conference, behind the two-time defending champ Saint Francis (Pa.).

Players To Watch
The Knights return freshman Sofia Albertsson, who captured the Northeast Rookie of the Year and First-Team All-Conference recognition. She finished the 2017 season with nine goals and four assists, tallying 22 points. Fairleigh Dickinson's goalkeeper also had a successful season last year, finishing with four shutouts and a 1.30 goals against average last season. Her accolades earned her an All-Northeast Conference Second Team bid.
