Providence, R.I. -  The Providence College women's soccer team was defeated by Brown, 4-0, in a Crosstown Cup matchup in Providence, R.I. on Thursday, Sept. 17. This marks the Friars' first loss of the season as they move to 2-1-6 overall to close out their non-conference slate. Brown improves to 6-2-1 with the win.

- Brown struck first in the 17th minute (16:11) as Joy Okonye put the Bears up 1-0 off a free kick. It was shot outside the 18 and hit the top left corner into the back of the net.
- The Bears doubled down five minutes later in the 22nd minute (21:56) as a cross from Corine Gregory resulted in a goal from Maja Cenanovic to put the Bears up 2-0.
- In the 32nd minute (31:57) the Bears notched another goal to go up 3-0. Claire Silverman sent a pass in off a corner kick and Brooke Birtwistle headed the ball to the left side to score.
- The Bears outshot the Friars 14-4 in the first half.
