Women's Soccer Set To Open BIG EAST Play At Creighton

Omaha, Neb. – The Providence College women's soccer team is set to begin BIG EAST conference play on the road against the Creighton Bluejays (4-3-1) on Saturday, Sept. 26. Kickoff will be at 1:00 p.m. EST and will be available for streaming on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Providence College women's soccer team recently fell to Brown, 4-0, for the Friars' first loss of the season on Thursday, Sept. 17. Providence moved to 2-1-6 overall in the 2026 season. The Friars hold a 2-0-3 mark at home and are 0-1-3 on the road. Providence has not lost a BIG EAST opening game since the 2021 season.

BIG EAST WEEKLY HONORS…

Monday, Aug. 17 - Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week. The junior anchored the Friars' defense, logging 180 minutes of action across two games and helped limit UMass Lowell to only one shot on goal in the match.
Monday, Aug. 17 - Jocy Koffi was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, after scoring her first and second career goals across the two matches and recorded 169 minutes on the field.
Monday, Aug. 31 – Jocy Koffi was once again named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, after scoring her fifth collegiate goal in six games, including her first multi-goal game against Rutgers.

SCOUTING THE BLUEJAYS… Creighton comes into the weekend match with a 4-3-1 record following a 1-0 shutout victory against Omaha on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Sophomore defender Olivia Sides was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after recording 90 minutes on the field and grabbing her first assist of the year. This is the second time in her career that Sides has been BIG EAST Defender of the Week. Forward Anna Bragg grabbed her first goal of the season in Creighton's ninth straight victory against Omaha. In the 2026 BIG EAST Preseason Poll, Creighton was selected to finish fourth, their highest ranking since joining the conference in 2013.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST CREIGHTON… The Friars hold a 6-5-1 all-time record against the Bluejays. In their last meeting, the Friars earned a 3-3 tie at home last season on Senior Night.

UP NEXT… The Friars will finish off their three-game road series against Connecticut (2-2-3) on Saturday, Oct. 3. The match will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and be streamed on ESPN+. The Friars are 4-32-3 all-time against the Huskies, after their last matchup where the Friars were defeated, 1-0, at home last season.
