PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team opened the season with a 2-0 win over Holy Cross Thursday night.
Hannah McNulty (Warwick, R.I.) put the Friars up early with a goal in the 29
th minute, lofting a ball over the goalie's head from outside the 18-yard box. The Friars led 1-0 at halftime and increased that lead six minutes into the second half when freshman,
Elayna Grillakis (Lowell, Mass.), put one off the crossbar and in off
Hailee Duserick's (Canton, Mass.) corner kick. Providence kept Holy Cross on their heels all night, as Providence outshot them 20-4.
