The Crusaders retaliated with back-to-back goals. Sean Mullaney netted Holy Cross' first at 8:14 and was assisted by Kevin Lux. At 7:04, Marc Buermann knotted the score with an assist from Sean Kirkpatrick.

In transition with under two minutes left, senior Jarrod Neumann (Springfield, Mass.) scored a statement goal to put the Friars up, 3-2 to close the first.

The Friars came out swinging in the second quarter, scoring three goals in under five minutes. Nawrocki scored his second of the game at 13:47 and provided the assist to Ryan Schaffer (Plano, Texas) 30 seconds later to put Providence up, 5-2. Sophomore Brendan Kearns improved the Friar lead to four goals at 11:28.

Kearns and Hatzipetrakos teamed up with five minutes left in the second to net a shot past Holy Cross' Tesoro and increase the Friar lead, 7-2. Kearns struck again with 1:57 remaining in the second. Kearns posts back-to-back three goal games and leads the Friar attack with six goals on the season.

The Crusaders responded in the third when Kirkpatrick scored off an assist from Jon Vogel to make it 8-3 (13:11).

Hatzipetrakos and Kearns partnered up again to score the Friars ninth goal with 4:49 remaining in the third. Hatzipetrakos posted one goal and three assists on the game.

In the fourth quarter, Holy Cross got on the board first to improve the Crusader's deficit to 9-4; Kevin Lux scored at 13:32.

With 6:35 remaining in the game, Kearns tallied his fourth goal of the game and provided the Friars with a 10-4 lead.

Coach Gabrielli stated after the game, "I was pround of our team's ability to overcome the adversity of the difficult conditions and playing on the road for the first time. We came out ready to compete!

Brendan Kearns again led the way for us offensively, and our attack as a whole finished unsettled opportunities that resulted from Holy Cross' ten man ride.

Alex George was a force in the face-off game, and I thought our defense was again stout. Jarrod Neumann was everywhere, causing multiple turnovers, picking up ground balls and he even scored a goal early on that gave us momentum!"

The Friars return to action on Saturday, Feb. 18 in Smithfield, R.I. for a 1:00 p.m. game against Bryant University.
