Women's Volleyball Set To Travel To Rider

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College women's volleyball (1-8) team will travel to Lawrenceville, N.J. to faceoff against the Rider University Broncs (3-2). The teams will play on Tuesday, September 4 at 6:00 p.m.

The Friars played four matches over the weekend at the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational on Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1. Sophomore Colleen McCollom (Indian Head Park, Ill.) was named to the All-Tournament team after collecting 47 kills and 49 digs over the weekend. McCollom notched double-doubles against Loyola (18k, 11d) on Friday, August 31 and against Norfolk State (12k, 16d) on Saturday, September 1.

The Friars are in the midst of a 21 match road streak to open their season. Providence will play its first match at home this season on Sunday, October 7 versus America East foe Stony Brook. This match will mark the first athletic event played in the renovated Mullaney Gymnasium in Alumni Hall.
