Women's Volleyball To Face Cross-Town Rival Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. --The Providence College volleyball team (1-12) will make a short trip to the campus of Brown University to face the Bears on Wednesday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m.

Sophomore Anna Russian (Round Rock, Texas) is second on the team with 114 kills and second in the America East conference with a .264 hitting percentage. Freshman Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) leads the Friars with 383 assists, for an average of 8.33 per set, fifth in the America East. Senior Cassie Muzzonigro (Gibsonia, Pa.) ranks fourth in the America East in digs per set with a 4.02 average, and has collected 185 digs throughout the team's 13 games this season.

Scouting Brown (2-3): The Bears of Brown University will be playing at home for the first time this season when they host the Friars on Wednesday, September 12. Brown won the CCSU Invitational earlier this season, picking up wins against Holy Cross (3-1) and host Central Connecticut State (3-0) in the championship match. The Bears last played in the Yale Invitational but fell 3-0 to both Northwestern and Villanova.

Providence will play its first match at home this season on Sunday, October 7 versus America East foe Stony Brook. This match will mark the first athletic event played in the renovated Mullaney Gymnasium in Alumni Hall.
