PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Volleyball Head Coach Margot Royer-Johnson announced today the signing of Beth Hoyt to join the Friar Volleyball Class of 2015. Hoyt will join Kelly Ashmore, Geralyn Gaines, Anna Russian and Mackenzie Ziegler who signed in November, to compose this fall's freshman class.

Hoyt played her prep volleyball at San Luis Obispo High School in San Luis Obispo, Calif., as well as club volleyball for the San Luis Obispo Juniors and Central Coast Volleyball Club. She was a three-year letter winner at San Luis Obispo and served as team captain her senior year, leading the team to a 25-7 record. She was a unanimous first team all-league selection, as well as a first team all-county honoree. Hoyt concluded her season as the 110th ranked player in the state of California. The San Luis Obispo, Calif., native is the daughter of Steve and Lisa Hoyt and has one brother, Alex.

"We are so excited to have Beth aboard," said Royer-Johnson. "She will be a great addition to the class of 2015. She has great fundamentals and more importantly a level head that we need on the court."
