PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Jennifer Caudill has been named assistant coach for the Providence College volleyball team by head coach Margot Royer-Johnson. Caudill, a 2005 Providence College graduate, comes to the Friars having spent the past several years as a coach with the SMASH volleyball club.
"I am so happy Jenn is a member of the staff this year. Jenn has always had a great understanding of the game and has built on her coaching knowledge over the past few years in club. I couldn't ask for a more dedicated and personable assistant," said Royer-Johnson.
Caudill (then Jennifer Backes) played at Providence from 2001-04 and was the first recruit signed by Royer-Johnson. The libero led the Friars in digs as a senior, recording 3.10 per game. Her performance both on the court and in the classroom earned her a spot on the 2004 Division I Independent Volleyball All-Academic Team.
The native of Seaford, N.Y., graduated from the College in 2005, majoring in finance. Caudill and her husband, Craig, currently reside in West Roxbury, Mass.
