Providence, R.I.- Providence College head coach Jim McGirr released the 2010 women's soccer schedule on Tuesday, February 16. The Friars will open with seven non-conference games before taking on their first BIG EAST opponent in Connecticut.
Providence will kick off their 2010 season with a scrimmage against Albany at home on Tuesday, August 17. The Friars will then begin regular season play when they travel to Fairfield, Conn. to take on Sacred Heart University on Sunday, August 22.
The BIG EAST Conference schedule begins on September 17 when the Friars travel to Storrs, Conn. to take on the Huskies. Thursday, September 23 will mark the first BIG EAST home game of the season when Providence plays host to Syracuse University.
In addition, the Friars host Marquette University, which finished the 2009 season on top of the American Division of the BIG EAST on Sunday, October 10. From there, Providence takes on the University of Notre Dame on Sunday, October 17, which fell only one game short of the National Championship on Sunday, October 17. The Friars finish up their 2010 season by traveling to the University of Pittsburgh on Tuesday, October 22 and West Virginia University on Sunday, October 24.
