Volleyball Adds Spicer To Recruiting Class

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College volleyball team signed 2009 recruit Shelby Spicer on Thursday, April 9. Spicer joins Cassie Muzzonigro in Head Coach Margot Royer's Class of 2013.
Spicer, a 5-foot, 6-inch defensive specialist from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was a four-year letter winner in volleyball at the Pine Crest School and was a four-time All-County First Team selection for Miami Dade and Broward Counties. In 2007, Spicer earned Miami Herald Player of the Year honors was a Miami Herald All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2008. She played for Club Florida Volleyball under head coach Rick Reyes.
"We will count on Shelby to help us defensively right away," Royer said. "She has quick reflexes and good ball control. We feel that she will fit into our system perfectly. Her decision to be a Friar is a great one!"
