PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's hockey team is ranked 12th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and 13th in the USCHO.com/CSTV Poll, which were released on Monday, January 2. For the Friars, it marks their highest ranking since November 4, 2002 when they were ranked eighth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and 10th in the USCHO.com Poll.

The Friars (11-6-1, 8-2-1 Hockey East) are currently in a first-place tie with Boston College in the Hockey East standings. In their last game, the Friars defeated Sacred Heart, 5-2, to capture the Providence College Hockey Holiday Classic on December 22 at Schneider Arena.
