Brown University Bears (3-1-2) - The Bears come to Glay Field on Wednesday, September 25 with just one loss in their first six games. The Bears were last in action on September 21 when they tied Columbia, 2-2. Scoring the two goals for the Bears were freshman midfielder Meghan Schreck (Hudson, Mass.) and junior midfielder Michaela Sewall (Newton, Mass.). Sewall leads the team in points with seven. Junior goalkeeper Sarah Gervais (Harrisville, R.I.) has played all but 30 minutes in goal this season. She has given up seven goals on 53 shots for a save percentage of .863. Head Coach Phil Pincince is in his 25th season at Brown and is the seventh winningest coach in NCAA Division I history. The Bears have a 17-2-0 record all-time versus the Friars.
Providence College Friars (3-3-2/0-2-0) - Fourth year Head Coach Tracy Kerr will attempt to lead Providence to its first victory over Brown since 1993. In Providence's last game, on September 22, the Friars were defeated by Miami (Fla.), 2-1. Scoring PC's only goal was sophomore midfielder Veronica Bakke (Alesund, Norway) off an assist from sophomore midfielder Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.) in the second minute. The Bakke goal was her first this season. Robertson's assist added to her team-lead in assists (four) and points (10). Freshman goalkeeper Caitlin Pickul (North Andover, Mass.), in her first collegiate start, made 18 saves against the Hurricanes. Last season, the Friars were defeated by Brown, 5-0.
