Providence, R.I. - The Brown Bears got two second half goals to break a 1-1 tie on the way to a 3-1 win over the Providence College Friars Wednesday night at Brown's Stevenson Field.
The loss dropped PC to 3-13 overall while Brown improves to 6-6-1 on the season.
Brown scored the only goal of the first half on what looked like an offsides play. Freshman Allyson Swerdt broke a scoreless tie at 42:35 when she headed a shot past PC's Shayna Ross.
The Friars tied the game at the 54:55 mark when senior Michelle Caravana scored off an indirect kick. PC's celebration didn't last too long though as Brown's Bekah Splaine stole the ball from Ross in the box and scored into an empty net at 55:16. Senior Kira Kania-Lloyd closed out the scoring at 83:59 when she scored off a crossing pass from midfielder Courtney Raker.
Ross made just four saves in the game for Providence while Elise Roy made four saves in goal for Brown.
