Friar Golfers Finish 7th Of 23 At Toski Invitational

Amherst, Mass. - (Amherst, Mass.)....The Providence College golf team had a strong second day of play to finish seventh of 23 teams at the Toski Invitational held at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Massachusetts. The Friars shot a two-day total of 307-301-608 to finish 23 strokes behind Central Connecticut who set a tourney record with a 281-304-585. Providence was led by DEAN CASHMAN (So., Etna, N.H.) who tied for 13th with a 76-74-150 total, just six strokes over par on the 6,794 yard, par-72 course. Cashman was eight strokes behind tournament champion, Jared LaMothe from Central Connecticut who shot a 67-75-142 for the win.
Rounding out PC's scores were: RICHARD DICHARD (Sr., Nashua, N.H.) who shot a 79-74-153. Senior ROB BRENNAN (Springfield, Mass.) had a two-day total of 77-77-154 as did freshman ARA BOGHIGIAN (Cranston, R.I.) who shot a 78-76-154. CHRIS HYNES (So., Warwick, R.I.) closed out PC's scorers with a 76-80-156.
The Friars are next in action at the Adams Cup Tournament which is hosted by the University of Rhode Island. The tourney will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 14-15.
