PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College freshman goaltender Jack Parsons (Cortland, N.Y.) was named Stop It Goaltending Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for January on Wednesday (Feb. 4). Parsons earns his third Hockey East recognition during the month of January after earning Rookie of the Week (Jan. 12) and Goaltender of the Week honors (Jan. 26).

Parsons went a perfect 7-0-0, tied for the most wins of among all NCAA goaltenders in January, after stepping in the Friars net due to injury to Philip Svedebäck. He posted two shutouts and has Providence riding a seven-game winning streak, all against nationally ranked Hockey East opponents. Parsons registered a 1.87 GAA and .931 save percentage in eight games during the month of January.
