KINGSTON, R.I. – The Providence College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the University of Rhode Island Coaches' Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2025. Junior
Owen Comiskey (Sherborn, Mass.) led the men's team in the 500 meters, winning the event in a personal best time of 1:05.20. Freshman
Matt McCabe (Marshfield, Mass.) captured the 800 meters in 1:56.14.

Leading the Friar women was senior
Jill Fenerty (Franklin, Mass.) in the 200 meters. She finished second in 26.22. Four other Friars recorded top-10 finishes: junior Margaret Kemper (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) placed third in 26.24, junior
Cate Parks (Marion, Mass.) finished sixth in 26.80, freshman
Ella Chandaria (Franklin, Mass.) placed eighth in 27.65 and senior
Ava Russell (Babylon, N.Y.) finished 10th in 27.85.
Parks also competed in the 60 meters, setting a personal best of 8.06 in the preliminary round to advance to the final. She matched that time in the final to finish seventh.
In the 800 meters, senior
Lexi Brent (York, Maine) placed third in 2:20.05.
Providence recorded multiple strong finishes in the 1,000 meters, with sophomore
Kaelin McCaffrey (Northport, N.Y.) finishing fourth in 3:01.86, senior
Emily DiSarno (Westfield, N.J.) placing fifth in 3:02.56 and junior
Claire Brean (Beverly, Mass.) finishing sixth in 3:02.84.
On the men's side, following Comiskey and McCabe, senior
Kyle Bloomer (Darien, Conn.) placed second in the 500 meters in 1:05.70.
In the mile, freshman
Jack Dowd (Pearl River, N.Y.) finished second by one-hundredth of a second in 4:16.22. Junior Nicholas Cassarino (Durham, Conn.) placed sixth in 4:20.72, freshman Matt Denardis (North Haven, Conn.) finished eighth in 4:22.00 and sophomore
Adam Wedlake finished 10th in 4:22.92.
Sophomore
Tucker Anglemyer (Winnetka, Ill.) placed fourth in the 400 meters in 50.83, followed by senior
Nico Fanuele (Wilmington, Mass.), who finished fifth in 52.16.
In the 3,000 meters, senior
Grady Satterfield (Bowdoinham, Maine) placed third in 8:38.32.
In the field events, junior
Jon Mignacca (Seekonk, Mass.) finished sixth in the high jump with a clearance of 1.94 meters. Senior
Nik Ventura (Jamison, Pa.) competed in the triple jump and placed 10th with a mark of 12.78 meters.
The Friar men's and women's team will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Brown Invitational.
