PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman goaltender
Jack Parsons (Cortland, N.Y.) was named Stop It Goaltending Hockey East Goaltender of the Week on Monday (Jan. 26). Parsons earns his second weekly award this month after being named Rookie of the Week on Jan. 12.
Parsons finished the weekend sweep over No. 18 Boston University with a 1.50 GAA and .941 save percentage. He stopped 48-of-51 shots he faced over the weekend, including a 33-save shutout in the Friars' 4-0 win at Agganis Arena on Saturday. Parsons has posted a 7-1-0 record with a 2.11 GAA and .922 save percentage in nine appearances this season.
The No. 9 Friars will travel to Orono, Maine on Saturday (Jan. 31) for a single game against the No. 17 Maine Black Bears. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. from Alfond Arena.
