Volleyball Set To Begin BIG EAST Play On The Road

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College volleyball team has concluded its non-conference schedule and will begin BIG EAST competition this weekend with road games against Marquette and DePaul. The Friars will take on Marquette on Friday, Sept. 26 at 8:00 p.m. (ET) and DePaul on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 5:00 p.m. (ET)

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Friars enter BIG EAST play with a 9-4 record. Most recently, the Friars played in the Pelican Invitational, where they defeated Alabama State (3-0) and New Orleans (3-1) and fell to Tulane (3-1). Redshirt senior Hadley Pride (Nashville, Tenn.) was named Libero of the Tournament and sophomore Sophia Adkins (Cincinnati, Ohio) made the All-Tournament Team.

As a team, Providence averages 2.51 aces per set, which ranks second among NCAA Division I programs.

Adkins leads the Friars' offense with 183 kills which ranks fourth in the BIG EAST.

Pride was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. She averages 5.68 digs per set, which ranks first in the BIG EAST and third in NCAA Division I. Pride has recorded 267 digs through 13 matches.

Junior Lyric Berry (Wylie, Texas) averages 1.43 blocks per set which ranks first in the BIG EAST.

Sophomore Audrey Kocon (Shoreview, Minn.) leads the BIG EAST in aces per set with 0.63.

SCOUTING MARQUETTE… The Golden Eagles enter the weekend with a 6-4 record. Most recently, Marquette defeated No. 15 Florida (3-0) and fell to No. 12 Wisconsin (3-0).

Senior Natalie Ring was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. She leads Marquette's offense with 179 kills and ranks first in the BIG EAST, averaging 4.71 kills per set.

Senior Adriana Studer ranks sixth in the BIG EAST, averaging 3.87 digs per set and leads the team in digs (147).

Freshman Isabela Haggard was named BIG EAST Setter of the Week. She leads Marquette with 392 assists and ranks first in the BIG EAST, averaging 10.32 assists per set.

SCOUTING DEPAUL… The Blue Demons enter the weekend with a 7-4 record. Most recently, they competed in the Chicago Cup, where they fell to UIC (3-1) and defeated Loyola Chicago (3-2).

Freshman Morgan Stewart leads DePaul's offense with 138 kills, averaging 3.29 kills per set.

Sophomore Amanda Saeger leads the team in assists with 339 and ranks sixth in the BIG EAST, averaging 7.88 assists per set.

Freshman Eva Hurrle averages 5.11 digs per set, which ranks second in the BIG EAST and leads the team in digs (230).
