Women’s Track Competes At BU’s Valentine Invitational

Maeve O’Neill ran the 800 in 2:04.66 – the fastest time in the BIG EAST this season.

BOSTON, Mass. – The Providence College women's track team competed at the Boston University Valentine Invitational at Boston University on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025. 

Junior Jill Fenerty (Franklin, Mass.), freshman Chloe Higgins (Morristown, N.J.), sophomore Kiera Hall (Christchurch, New Zealand), and sophomore Maeve O'Neill (Cork, Ireland) all ran strong races.  Fenerty placed 19th in the 400 invite division in a time 56.56.  Also in the 400, Higgins placed seventh in the open 400 in a time of 57.16.  Hall was eighth in the 1,000 meters in a personal record time of 2:47.80.  O'Neill ran the 800 in a time of 2:04.66, which is the fastest run in the BIG EAST this season

The Friar women's team will return to action on Feb. 21 at the Boston University DMR Invite.
