PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team is set host the No. 20 ranked Xavier University Musketeers (11-2-2, 6-0-1 BIG EAST) on Saturday, Oct. 18. The match will kick off at 6:00 p.m. in Providence, R.I. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium. It will be available for streaming on Friars Live.
SCOUTING THE FRIARS... The Providence College women's soccer team was recently defeated by No. 13 Georgetown, 5-0, and fell to 4-5-3 overall with a 1-3-2 mark in BIG EAST play. This season, the Friars have earned victories over Army (1-0), Northeastern (2-1), Sacred Heart (1-0) and Seton Hall (2-0). Providence holds a 3-2-2 mark at home and are 1-3-1 on the road. Providence's home match versus Rutgers University, originally scheduled for Friday, Sept. 6, was postponed due to inclement weather and has not been rescheduled.

Ella McBride (Peterborough, Ont.) and freshman
Courtnee Pickles (Methuen, Mass.) lead the Friars offense with a team-high five points on two goals and an assist each. Redshirt-freshmen
Amaya Coffie (Warwick, R.I.) and
Lily Gibbs (Dedham, Mass.) are also tied for first on the team in goals, each having scored two. Eight players have scored goals for the Friars this season and seven have recorded assists. Graduate student goalkeeper
Ellie Thallman (Northville, Mich.) has anchored Friars in net starting in every. Thallman has registered a .661 save percentage on 39 saves and has recorded three shutout wins.
Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ont.) and McBride have led the Friars' defense, logging 1,067 and 958 minutes, respectively.
AWARDS… Six Friars have earned BIG EAST Awards this season.
Gibbs was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Aug. 18 after she scored the game winning goal in the 72nd minute in Friars' win over Army (1-0). It also marked her first-career goal at Providence. Gibbs was recently recognized on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Oct. 6. Gibbs scored her second goal of the season in the 46th minute in the Friars win over Seton Hall (2-1).
Isabella Kloock-Jensen (Aabenraa, Denmark) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Sept. 3. She scored the game-winning goal in the 60th minute of the Friars win over Sacred Heart (1-0). It also marked her first-career goal at Providence.
McBride was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 25 following the Friars win over Northeastern (2-1). The senior anchored the Friars' defense, logging 90 minutes of action and helped limit Northeastern to only two shots on goal. McBride was also named to the Preseason ALL-BIG EAST Team on Aug. 12.
Courtnee Pickles (Methuen, Mass.) was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll on Aug. 25 after she was credited with the game-winning goal in the 67th minute in the Friars win at Northeastern (2-1). It also marked her first-career goal with the Friars.
Schoeley was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8 following the Friars win over Sacred heart (1-0). The sophomore led the Friar defense, logging 90 minutes of action and helped limit Sacred Heart to only one shot. Schoeley was recently recognized on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Oct. 6. She was credited with the game-winning goal in the 15th minute of the Friars win over Seton Hall (2-0).
Thallman was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Aug. 18 following the Friars win over Army (1-0). The graduate student recorded a clean sheet performance in the teams win.

SCOUTING THE MUSKETEERS... Xavier enters Saturday's match ranked No. 20 nationally with a 11-2-2 record and a 6-0-1 mark in BIG EAST play. The Musketeers hold a 4-2-2 record on the road this season. Xavier's noteworthy road results include wins over Cincinnati (3-0) and Creighton (2-1), a tie at Connecticut (1-1) and a loss at No. 17 Virginia (3-0). Xavier also holds home wins over No. 17 Michigan State and Villanova (9-0).
Sophomore Samantha Erbach leads Xavier's offense in scoring with 34 points on 11 goals and a team-high 12 assists. Erbach currently leads the BIG EAST in points and assists, and is tied for first in goals scored. She also ranks first in NCAA Division I in total assists and is tied for first in total points. Senior Elin Hasson ranks second on the team with 26 points and is tied for the team lead in goals with 11. Hasson is currently second in the BIG EAST in points and tied for first in goals scored. Redshirt sophomore Peyton Kohls has registered 18 points on six goals and six assists, a mark that ranks third on the team and tied for fifth in the BIG EAST. Senior Emma Flick has added 16 points on six goals and four assists for the Musketeers. Senior Regan Dancer has tallied 13 points on three goals and ranks second on the team with seven assists. Senior goalkeeper Maria Galley has anchored Xavier in net this season starting in every game. She has posted a .690 save percentage with eight total shutouts.
UP NEXT... The Friars will host Marquette (6-4-4, 2-1-3 BIG EAST) on Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Providence, R.I. The game will kick off at 5:00 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
