PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team will host No. 14 Liberty in a BIG EAST Conference match on Friday, Sept. 27 at 3:00 p.m. The game will be played at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. and will be streamed live on FloSports. The Friars will close out the weekend on the road against New Hampshire on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 2:00 p.m. in Durham, N.H.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE (5-3, 1-0 BIG EAST):
• The Friars enter the weekend with a 5-3 overall record, including a 1-0 mark in BIG EAST play. Two of the program's three losses this season have come against nationally ranked opponents: No. 12 Michigan (8-1) and No. 17 Boston College (3-1).

Bo Martina leads the Friars in scoring with 11 points on three goals and team-best five assists. She has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll during each of the last two weeks. She recorded the game winning goal and one assist in the Friars' BIG EAST opening win vs. Quinnipiac and added the first multi-assist game of her career in a 4-3 (2OT, SO) win over Holy Cross.

Macie Pennisi is second in scoring with nine points on four goals and one assist. Last week, she was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career. She anchored a Friars' defense that allowed just five shots in a BIG EAST win over Quinnipiac and scored a total of three goals in a 2-0 week overall.

Ally DeCoste is third on the team in scoring (eight points) and tied with Pennisi for the team lead in goals scored (four).

Florencia Talarico, who was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team in August, has recorded two assists this season. Last year, Talarico was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and landed a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
• Eight different players have scored at least one goal for Providence through eight games and nine players have registered at least one assist.

Asia Porter has played 498 minutes in the cage this season and has compiled a 2.29 goals against average and a 0.568 save percentage. She has recorded two shut-out victories through eight games and came on Sept. 6 vs. Stonehill (3-0) and Sept 20 vs. Quinnipiac (2-0).
• The Friars have allowed 20 goals this season. Eleven of those 20 goals were scored in Providence's two games vs. nationally ranked teams.
• Providence has outshot its opponents 88-70. The Friars have put 59 of their 88 shots on target for a shots on goal percentage of 0.670.
• Providence has recorded 50 penalty corners this season and have yielded 45 to its opponents.

SCOUTING LIBERTY (4-3, 0-1 BIG EAST):
• The Flames enter the weekend with a 4-3 overall record, including an 0-1 mark in the BIG EAST.
• All three of Liberty's losses have come against nationally ranked opponents.
• Liberty's signature win, so far this season, was a 1-0 victory over No. 4 Duke. The Flames came away with the victory despite being outshot 14-5 (5-3 SOG).
• The Flames most recently fell to No. 19 Old Dominion, 3-2, in the BIG EAST opener on Sept. 20.
• The match between Liberty and ODU was tied, 2-2, until the Monarchs converted what proved to be the game-winning goal with 2:17 left in regulation on a penalty corner.
• Seven players on the roster have scored at least one goal this season, led by Martu Cian, who has recorded eight points on four goals.
• Tuti Dell Anna (three), Josefina Tomasi (three) and Lou Combrinck (two) join Cian as multi-goal scorers.
• Michaela Skinner has played 435 minutes in the cage for Liberty and owns a 1.93 goals against average and a 0.641 save percentage. Skinner has recorded two shut-out victories against William & Mary (5-0) and No. 4 Duke (1-0).
SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE (2-6):
• New Hampshire enters the weekend with a 2-6 overall record and will face Bryant in its America East opener on Sept. 27 before hosting the Friars.
• The Wildcats have lost three games to opponents who were ranked in the national poll at the time of play and a fourth loss came to Connecticut, who has made their way into the national poll (currently ranked No. 11).
• UNH is coming off a 5-3 loss to No. 16 Boston College on Sept. 22.
• Kathelijne Knuttel leads the Wildcats in scoring with 13 points on six goals and one assist.
• Tasmin Cookman, who earned NFHCA All-America Second-Team honors in 2023, is second on the team in scoring with seven points (2g/3a).
• Cookman paced the Friars in scoring during the 2023 season with 41 points on 18 goals and five assists.
• The Wildcats have used two goalkeepers this season through eight games.
• Abby Johnson has played 340 minutes and owns both of UNH's victories. She has compiled a 3.00 goals against average and a 0.595 save percentage. Kerigan Ross has played 140 minutes and has recorded a 3.87 goals against average and a 0.591 save percentage.
