PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team will open BIG EAST Conference play on Friday, Sept. 20 against Quinnipiac. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. in Hamden, Conn. at Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium. Providence will return home to Lennon Family Field on Sunday, Sept. 22 to host Holy Cross in non-conference action. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Prior to the match, the program will honor its six graduating seniors and five graduate students.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE (3-3):
• The Friars enter the weekend with a 3-3 overall record. Two of the program's three losses this season have come against nationally ranked opponents: No. 12 Michigan (8-1) and No. 17 Boston College (3-1).

Ally DeCoste leads Providence in scoring with eight points on four goals.
• DeCoste is tied for fifth in the BIG EAST in goals (four), tied for sixth in goals per game (0.67) and tied for 10
th in points per game (1.33).
• Sophomore
Bo Martina is second in scoring with six points on two goals and two assists. She has already matched her scoring total from a season ago, having finished her rookie campaign with six points on two goals and two assists in 15 games.
• Senior
Bella DelNegro is third on the team in scoring with four points (1g/2a). Last season, DelNegro paced the Friars in assists with seven.

Florencia Talarico, who was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team in August, is tied for the team lead in assists (two) with Martina and DelNegro. Last season, Talarico was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and landed a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
• Seven different players have scored at least one goal for Providence through six games and eight players have registered at least one assist.
• Graduate student
Asia Porter has played 358 minutes in the cage this season and has compiled a 2.68 goals against average and a 0.556 save percentage. She has recorded one shut-out victory through six games and came on Sept. 6 vs. Stonehill (3-0).
• The Friars have allowed 17 goals this season. Eleven of those 18 goals were scored in Providence's two games vs. nationally ranked teams.
• Providence has outshot its opponents 59-55. The Friars have put 41 of their 59 shots on target for a shots on goal percentage of 0.695.

SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC (2-4, 0-0 BIG EAST):
• Quinnipiac enters the weekend with a 2-4 overall record.
• The Bobcats have won two of their last three games, including a 7-1 victory over Merrimack on Sept. 15. Also during that three-game span, Quinnipiac defeated Stonehill, 1-0, in double overtime on Sept. 8 and fell to Lafayette, 3-2, on Sept. 13.
• The Bobcats offense is led by Francisca Eschoyez, who has recorded 15 points on seven goals and one assist. She recorded four goals and one assist in Quinnipiac's most recent game vs. Merrimack.
• Lucia Pompeo is second on the team in scoring with six points on three goals.
• Pompeo is the sister of former Friar Sophia Pompeo '22, who played 64 career games at Providence and tallied 29 points on 13 goals and three assists.
• Three Bobcats are tied for third in scoring with four points each, including Cameron Brower (1g/2a), Martina Calveira (0g/4a) and Lucia Donati (2g/0a).
• Cristina Torres has played 374 minutes in the cage for Quinnipiac and owns a 2.08 goals against average and a 0.705 save percentage.
• The Bobcats have recorded 50 penalty corner opportunities and have yielded just 24 corners to their opponents.
• Quinnipiac has attempted 99 shots this season through six games (16.5 per game). The Bobcats have put 52 of their shot attempts on target.
SCOUTING HOLY CROSS (3-2):
• Holy Cross enters the weekend with a 3-2 overall record and will face Lafayette on Sept. 20 before making its way to Providence.
• Holy Cross is 0-1 on the road this season. The Crusaders fell to Fairfield, 5-0, in Fairfield, Conn.
• The Crusaders fell to Northeastern, 2-1, in their most recent game on Sept. 15.
• Meggan Fourie leads the offense with 13 points on six goals and one assist.
• Marissa MacLean is second in scoring with six points on one goal and four assists, while Sarah Potter checks in with five points on two goals and one assist.
• Fourie and MacLean are the Crusaders' only multi-goal scorers.
• Mia McCloskey has played 310 minutes in the cage for Holy Cross and owns a 2.13 goals against average and a 0.711 save percentage.
