Laura Mooney And Lily Tuck Run the 10,000 Meters At The NCAA East Prelims

LEXINGTON, Ky. – After a four-hour weather delay for the women's 10,000 meters, the Providence Friars completed Day 2 of competition at the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field East Preliminary competition on Thursday May 23 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.
Seniors Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) and Lilly Tuck (Sunderland, Ontario) ran in the semifinals of the 10,000 meters. Mooney placed 19th in a time of 33:28.17 and Tuck was 22nd in a time of 33:36.55. The top-12 finishers of the 48 runners in the 10,000 meters in the East advance to the NCAA Championships on June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.
The Friars will return to action on Friday when senior Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) will run the 3,000 meter steeplechase quarterfinal at 5:40 p.m.
