Shannon Flockhart Named BIG EAST Female Track Athlete of the Week

Flockhart earned Female Track Athlete of the Week for her performance in the 1,500 meters at the Raleigh Relays.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.– It was announced Wednesday, Apr. 3 that Providence College senior Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) was named BIG EAST Female Track Athlete of the Week. Flockhart earned Female Track Athlete of the Week for her recent performance in the 1,500 meters at the Raleigh Relays this past weekend in Raleigh, N.C.
 
Flockhart won the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:08.84. Her time marked a meet and facility record and is ranked first in the NCAA. Flockhart's time should qualify her for the first round of the NCAA Championship.
 
The Friars are back in action Friday, April 12 with the Friar Invitational in Providence, R.I. at the Ray Treacy Track.
