PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's hockey freshman
Hudson Malinoski (Saskatoon, Sask.) was named Pro Ambitions Hockey East Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday, February 12.
A 2023 fifth round draft pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Malinoski registered a career-high three points in Providence's 4-3 overtime win at No. 7 Maine on Saturday night. The three points came over a span of the final 10:29 of game action as Malinoski assisted on
Graham Gamache's third period goal and scored the game-tying goal with 4:33 remaining in regulation. He also earned an assist on
Guillaume Richard's game-winning goal 23 seconds into overtime. In his first season at Providence, Malinoski has posted seven goals and seven assists in 27 games played with two game-winning goals and a +6 rating.
The No. 10/11 Friars return to action on Friday night as they host No. 3 Boston University to kick off a home-and-home series with the Terriers.
