Shannon Flockhart Earns Bronze Medal At European Athletics U23 Championship

ESPOO, FINLAND – Providence College track runners Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England), Jane Buckley (Cork, Ireland), and Abdel Laadjel (Lucan, Ireland) competed at the European Athletics U23 Championships this past weekend, July 13-16 in Espoo, Finland.
Flockhart finished third overall in the 1,500 meters with a personal and school record of 4:08.37.
Laadjel entered the 10,000-meter race with the 15th seeded time. He finished fourth at the Championship in a time of 29:23.33 to close out a successful year.
Buckley concluded her standout freshman year with a ninth-place finish in the 5,000 meters in a time of 16.02.22.
